In Varanasi (Kasi) at the abroad of Siva and Shakti along with the Kshetrapalika Varahi.
In Varanasi, also known as Kashi, the ancient and revered city in India, the divine presence of Shiva and Shakti is profound and pervasive. Alongside them is the deity Varahi, who holds a unique and vital role as the Kshetrapalika or City Guard. Varahi embodies the shakti (power) of Varaha, an incarnation of Vishnu. Varahi is particularly revered in Varanasi as the protector of the city. As the Kshetrapalika Varahi, she is entrusted with the safeguarding of Varanasi, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of its inhabitants. Varahi patrols the city throughout the night, warding off evil spirits and malevolent forces that could harm the residents or the sanctity of this holy city. At dawn, she is said to return to her temple, having completed her nightly vigil.
